Join us as we celebrate the end of summer, and summer reading, with games galore. We will be pulling the winners for the summer reading raffles, as well as playing Giant Jenga, Kerplunk, Human Hungry Hippos, plus a bunch of minute to win it games including Cookie Face, Junk in the Trunk, and Scoop It Up. Win prizes and have a ton of fun. Registration is not required.
TEEN CRAFTERNOON - CONSTELLATION JEWELRY AND KEYCHAINS – WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 2ND AT 3:00 P.M. Come by and make your own constellation necklace or keychain. We will be making the necklaces out of wire, chains, glue, and crystals. The keychains will be made using leather and leather punches. No experience is needed. Space is limited so register early. Check out our upcoming programs! TEEN CRAFTERNOON – CONSTELLATION CANVASES – WEDNESDAY, JULY 26TH AT 3:00 P.M. We will be making constellation canvases using canvas boards, paint, sharpies, and string lights. Bring home your very own canvas to light up your room at night. Space is limited so register early. Join the teen librarian, Nicole Kent, and become a member of the Teen Advisory Group (T.A.G.). Share your ideas about activities, materials, and improvements to help make the Southington Public Library teen space an even better place for you and your friends.
T.A.G. is a fun way to meet school community service requirements, if applicable. It also looks good on resumes and college applications. Interested teens are invited to attend the T.A.G. meeting at 4:00 p.m. in the Southington Library meeting room. Registration is not required.
From June 20th to August 16th, for each book, audiobook, comic book, and/or graphic novel you read, fill out an entry form to receive a raffle ticket and enter to win a gift card for Amazon, Kiwi Spoon, Panera Bread, Dunkin Donuts, and more. Winners will be chosen at the summer reading party on August 16th. Don’t forget to sign up for our Stellar Crafternoons – Constellation Canvases and Constellation Jewelry and Keychains. Check the Upcoming Events tab for more details. Summer reading entry forms are available in the Summer Reading tab or at the Reference desk. Raffle tickets can be obtained at the Reference Desk.

Stop by and watch Rogue One. It takes place in a time of conflict, in which a group of unlikely heroes band together on a mission to steal the plans to the Death Star, the Empire's ultimate weapon of destruction. This key event in the STAR WARS timeline brings together ordinary people who choose to do extraordinary things, and in doing so, become part of something greater than themselves. Runtime is approximately 133 minutes. Rated PG-13. Registration is not required. Snacks will be provided.
