At the beginning of winter, I was excited because, for me, winter means days and nights of snuggling under a blanket, sipping hot coffee, and reading a book. But now as the winter days drag on into winter months, I'm getting restless. I wish I could be sitting on my deck, in the warm sun, sipping iced coffee, and reading a book. (Do you see a pattern here?)
So since Mother Nature isn't cooperating and spring's arrival is delayed, I've decided to focus on reading books about spring and summer. I just finished reading "We Were Liars" by E. Lockhart. The book tells the suspenseful story of Cadence Sinclair Eastman, the oldest grandchild of a wealthy family who spends their summers on a private island off the coast of Cape Cod. One summer, Cady is involved in a mysterious accident which leaves her with amnesia and severe migraine headaches. Two summers later, Cady pieces together her memories and the nature of the accident is revealed. A revelation so shocking that I actually gasped!
Do you have any suggestions for good books that take place in the spring or summer?
